Minulla on DIY-ihmisen puoliunelias sielu. Lappeenrannan vuosina, lasten ollessa pieniä se touhusi virkeänä. Ompelin pojalle lohikäärmeen harjalla koristellun punamustan toppahaalarin. Leivoin kaverisynttäreille aarrearkun mallisen, suklaakolikoita ja karkkihelmiä pursuavan täytekakun. Uutin sitruunahapolla puolukoista raikasta mehua ja säilöin paprikapikkelsiä talven varalle.
Sen jälkeen DIY-sielu on heräillyt silloin tällöin.
Olen innostunut ostamaan samettia mekkoa varten kangaskaupasta.
Viime aikoina DIY-sielu on heräillyt horroksesta yhdessä aviomiehen kanssa.
Nyt me teimme itse deodoranttia.
DIY-deodorantin tarvikkeet
- 1 rkl ruokasoodaa
- 2 rkl perunajauhoja
- 2 rkl kookosöljyä: kookosöljyä / kylmäpuristettua kookosöljyä / tuoksutonta kookosöljyä
- muutama tippa eteeristä öljyä tai hajuvettä
- tyhjä stick-mallisen deodorantin kotelo tai lasipurkki
- sekoituskulho ja lusikka
Näin deodorantti valmistuu
Mittaa kulhoon ruokasooda, perunajauhot ja kookosöljy. Sekoita lusikalla tasaiseksi. Valmis seos muistuttaa hammastahnaa.
DIY: WE MADE DEODORANT
I have a semi-dormant soul of a DIY person. During our Lappeenranta years, our children were little, and this soul was up and running. I sewed a red and black snowsuit, complete with a dragon’s crest, for my son. I baked a treasure chest shaped cake, bursting with chocolate coins and candy pearls, for a birthday party. I
made refreshing juice with lingonberries and citric acid, I pickled bell peppers for winter.
After that, my DIY soul has woken up every now and then. I have found myself at the draper’s, buying velvet for a frock. Lately, my DIY soul has awaken from hibernation, together with my husband. Now we made some deodorant ourselves.
What you need for DIY deodorant
- 1 tbsp baking soda
- 2 tbsp potato starch
- 2 tbsp coconut oil: coconut oil / cold pressed coconut oil / odourless coconut oil
- a few drops of essential oil or perfume
- an empty case of a stick deodorant or a glass jar
- a mixing bowl and a spoon
How to make the deodorant
Measure the baking soda, potato starch and coconut oil into the bowl. Use the spoon to mix until smooth. When ready, the mixture will resemble toothpaste. You can make the mixture more flowing by adding the amount of coconut oil, more solid by reducing it.
If you like your deodorant to have a fragrance, add a few drops of an essential oil you like or, say, perfume. Remember that citrus oils sensitise your skin to sunlight.
When done, spoon the paste into an empty stick case. Let the deodorant congeal in fridge for a few hours or overnight. Alternatively, you can put the deodorant into an empty glass or metal jar and spread it to your armpits with your fingers. The deodorant will keep in room temperature. As coconut oil melts in +25 degrees, your deodorant will also soften in high temperatures. If needed, you can congeal the deodorant in fridge.
